Debra Farrar-Parkman is an experienced Development, Philanthropy and
Media Relations professional. Her fundraising expertise areas include
healthcare, youth development high school graduation/college completion)
and social services, having created and led development teams for
NeighborHealth (formerly East Boston Neighborhood Health Center), New
England’s largest community health center and Freedom House, where she
grew the 76-year-old civil rights organization’s annual budget by 100% and
closing a $2 million capital campaign. Debra’s extensive writing experience
includes organizational development, press advisories, speeches, concept
papers, and proposals. She is a former comedian and founder of ColorStruck:
Women of Color in Comedy and currently consults in DEI training and allyship
through Humor workshops with Korsi Consulting. Coordinating Producer for
Robert Pinsky’s Favorite Poem project, Debra is a former Emmy Award
winning producer/writer and is currently producing a short film about her
uncle’s experiences as a Harvard doctoral student who was imprisoned in a
WWII concentration camp in Italy.
