Briana Cohen (she/her) is a recent graduate from Northeastern University, where she studied applied psychology and creative writing. Briana writes poetry as a means of better understanding the world inside and outside of her mind and body. She would like to connect with people and plants through the power of poetry, and is excited to help others do the same. She presently coordinates teen programming with MassPoetry, so that young people may have an outlet and community centered around creative expression. She feels strongly about the incorporation of curiosity and creativity in young minds to learn skills on emotional regulation and expression. Through creative and expressive acts, one may learn to accept the world for what it is and find effective ways to make improvements. In other words, Briana Cohen is a psychoanalytic poet, seeking to spread the practice.
