Student Speaker
Sharon Castang is a recent graduate from New Mission High School in Hyde Park, MA. Born and raised in Michigan, Sharon’s love for literature and language began in middle school, and when she moved to Boston three years ago, she grew to love poetry. Her favorite school subjects are English and Creative Writing and, since 8th grade, she has been obsessed with identifying the Latin etymology of English and Spanish words. Sharon is co-founder and editor of New Mission’s first school-wide literary magazine called LENS (Life Experiences Now Speak). Her hobbies are singing, playing the piano, saxophone, and basketball.
