*Student Day of Poetry is a FREE one-day opportunity for your students to work with some of the best poetry teachers, artists and performers that Massachusetts has to offer. MassPoetry believes in the transformational power of the word and strives to provide access to all of our programs. With that in mind, there are a few costs that we expect schools and organizations to cover, if possible. Below are details.

Lunch Costs:

A full day of programming? Your students are probably going to get hungry for more than poetry. We do provide a complimentary breakfast in the AM. Your lunch options are below:

1. Bring your own lunches and eat with us.

2. Reserve a box lunch from us. We charge $7 a student. This goes to a Sandwich, Side, Cookie and drink box lunch. If you need a lunch from us, please reserve this NOW.

3. If you are having trouble budgeting for this expense, please contact our Director of School Programs, Amanda Torres for details.

Transportation Costs:

Great News! The MIT campus is T accessible for all Greater Boston residents.

1. “Wait, but my school is much farther than the T reaches! What about me?” Have no fear, resident of Massachusetts. Click on this link and check out these incredible Big Yellow School Bus grants provided by the Mass Cultural Council. They will pay for you to take your students on a field trip once a year. ApplyNow!

2. If you are a community organization or a school who has already applied for their annual bus grant, please contact the School Programs Director & we will work on a way to get your students to MIT for some poetry!

The student day of poetry is open to all students in grades 7-12, both Massachusetts residents and non-residents! Come one, come all!

If you have any questions, contact Amanda Torres, the Director of Student Programs for Mass Poetry at torres.writes@gmail.com or torres@masspoetry.org
