Jacqui Morton is a poet and writer, joining Massachusetts Poetry after many years in the
mission-driven sector, recently as a fundraising and communications
consultant serving organizations such as the Newton Free Library, Boston
University, Discovering Justice, the Price Center, and Merrimack
College. She has facilitated workshops in the Brookline and Arlington
community education programs, and is trained as a birth and abortion
doula. Her manuscript, Turning Cozy Dark,
was a semi-finalist in the 2012 New Women’s Voices Chapbook Competition
(Finishing Line Press) and in 2018, she was awarded a scholarship at
the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. She is a graduate of the
University of Massachusetts Amherst and the MFA program at Antioch University, Los Angeles.
Outside of work, Jacqui is a student of yoga and meditation, and piano.
She loves time with her two sons, being outdoors, and finding ways to
celebrate and serve her community.
